Esthero, Obama video and Michael Creagh

It took me until tonight to realize that one of my favorite singers, Esthero, was featured in Will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” video (below).  I watched the video like 10 times around  presidential election and I guess I was so caught up with Obama’s speech and the power of Will.i.am’s mix to pay attention to all the celebs and singers.  I don’t see how I could have missed it as I remember originally thinking that one of the most powerful tones in the song reminded me of Esthero.  Now that I finally opened my eyes, I am really excited to see her on the video singing (check minute 1:10 and then again near the end of the song).

Esthero and I have worked together a couple times and I photographed her for the cover of her last major album (all photos below are from our shoot).

Esthero just co-wrote a couple songs and did some vocals for Kayne West and Brandy.  She has collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas, Sean Lennon, Nelly Furtado, Gnarls Barkley and Andre 3000 of OutKast.

Her songs have been in numerous television shows and movies like Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, The L Word, Las Vegas, Miss Congeniality 2, I Think I Love My Wife, Smallville, The Hills, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, and Sex and the City.
